Two Color Granny Square Crochet Pattern Tutorial | Half & Half Granny is beginner friendly!
Learn how to crochet the Two Color Granny Square also known as the Half and Half Granny Square!
This variation of the basic granny square uses two different colors - exactly one-half of the granny square in one color and exactly one-half of the granny square in the second color creating a stunning visual effect!
And, with this variation there are very few additional ends to weave in! With turning every round and simply dropping the non-working yarn and then pulling it back into your work in the next round, there is no need to cut your yarn between rounds!
This two color granny square is perfect for mixing and matching with solid granny squares to create interesting and unique geometric designs!
The Americana Star Crochet Blanket uses this two color granny square to create a star shape! You can find the free pattern for the Americana Star Blanket on the blog (coming soon!)
If you are new to crochet (or simply want a refresher) of the beginner, basic granny square worked in non-turning rounds you can check that out here: ua-cam.com/video/FqhPGZwqjOI/v-deo.html

    my favorite DC triangle scarf - what size would you suggest this for a toddler and child?

    • @nanascraftyhome
      @nanascraftyhome 8 днів тому

      I am so glad you like it! Sizing will definitely depend on age/size of child but the great thing about this scarf is you can simply stop when you have the sizing right if the child is readily available for "trying on" the scarf as you go. You could also measure from the neck down to where you would like the point of the scarf to the mid or upper abdomen would most likely be the best place for the triangle point to hit. Then simply go until you reach that measurement. I hope that helps! 🌸💕

    • @nanascraftyhome
      @nanascraftyhome 23 дні тому

      Absolutely you could make this shawl as long you would like! Simply add on the number of chains to make it the length you wish and then simply work double crochet stitches in every chain you added. Work the top portion the same - you will just be adding on to the double crochet portion of the shawl. I hope that helps! 💕🌸

    Hiya Thanks for the tute 😍 Will this join have a stretch to it? as I really like it but I’m joining squares for some clothing so need to have a stretchy join .thank you xx

    • @nanascraftyhome
      @nanascraftyhome 27 днів тому

      So glad you like it! I would say this join isn't very stretchy. For a stretchy join I would recommend a lace mesh join which I show in the video here: ua-cam.com/video/mm4WFFSgzLA/v-deo.html. For a less open appearance I would recommend using this method with a single crochet stitch. I hope that helps! Thanks for watching 💕🌸

    I’m looking for a lapghan size American flag. Would this mini C2C done in dc be like the size of lapghan?

    • @nanascraftyhome
      @nanascraftyhome 29 днів тому

      I think that even going up to double crochet stitches with a worsted weight yarn would be a lot smaller than you are looking for. I would recommending working up a gauge swatch in a super bulky blanket yarn + dc c2c to see where you might end up size wise. I hope that helps! 💕🌸

    Super glad this tutorial was on here. I've been crocheting since I was 7 and I'm now almost 45. My nan and mum taught me how to crochet together. This was one of the things I did first. One was a granny square and the other was a granny rectangle because, you know, you have to learn both haha. I actually forgot how to start the granny rectangle and this was a great help. Thanks heaps. All I needed to remember was the beginning.
